Rumur.com allows anyone to stream, download and burn their favorite
feature films, shows, shorts, and music videos - on demand.
Producers can setup a personal account, set the pricing and instantly distribute
their titles in any format to users around the world.

PRODUCERS
What makes Rumur.com different than every other video-on-demand site?
• Rumur.com offers motion picture titles in multiple formats: streaming flash,
quicktime downloads or DVD video.
• The service works for Mac and Windows
(linux on the way).
• Every PRODUCER is given their own unique url (ie username.rumur.com) which they can use to display personal information.
• Each TITLE is given its own unique url (ie username.rumur.com/titlename).
• Producers can track sales in real time and get paid instantly.
How do I signup for an account?
Currently Rumur is only accepting producers by invitation.
If
you are a rights holder and are interested in distributing your title via
the Rumur platform then tell us about your work.
What materials do I need to deliver to get my title on the site?
Producers can choose to encode the files or send them to Rumur to encode.
These are the minimum specs.
VIDEO
• Download: Quicktime .mov, .mpeg or .mov (640x480 pixels minimum) at 1.5mbs or higher data rate.
• DVD: Video_TS folder (un-encrypted and region agnostic) 4,3gb max for single layer, 8.6 for dual layer.
• Stream: Flash .flv (640x480 pixels minimum) at 448 kbs or higher data rate.
ARTWORK
• Poster Image: jpg, tiff, gif (240X180 pixel minimum at 72dpi)
(* Additionally, producers may wish to upload hi-res poster image (300dpi) s that so that users may download and print.)

What are my rights?
Rumur distributes titles on a non-exclusive basis.
Producers retain all rights, titles and interests to their work and are free to do whatever they want.
How do I get paid and what does it cost?
Producers set the prices. Most titles, regardless of length, should be priced under $10.
Producers can choose to get paid via paypal or google checkout
after the sale of each title or via check once a month.
Producers will also
be able to track sales in real time instantly via their account dashboard.
Rumur charges a 15% fee per transaction. This covers hosting, bandwidth, credit card processing and management costs.
How can I market my titles?
Each unique title page includes options for
sharing titles via email, embed codes and quick links to share on popular social bookmarking services.
The TOP TEN titles based on views are featured on the home page which generates additional traffic.
What do I have to lose?
Absolutely nothing. Producers can start making money instantly
with no strings attached.

What are the system requirements?
• Mac OSX 10.4 or higher
• PC Windows XP / Vista
• 1gig of RAM
• Broadband / DSL Internet
• Flash for streaming (download latest version of Flash)
• Quicktime for downloading (download the latest version of Quicktime)
• DVD-R Writer for burning (here, you can buy a DVD-R Writer if you don't have one)

What's the difference between Stream, Download and Burn?
• Stream allows you to rent titles in hi-resolution Flash video within your
browser instantly for up to 24hours after purchase.
• Downloaded titles are delivered as hi-resolution Quicktime
video direct to your desktop.
• Burn titles are hi-resolution DVD files that
are downloaded and burned to your computer. You must have a DVD-R writer
attached to your computer to burn titles.
Are all titles available in every format?
No. Although, most are available in every format, some titles are only available
in select formats for various legal rights reasons.
How long does it take to start watching?
• Streaming titles will start immediately.
• Downloaded titles will start playing a few seconds after download begins,
and take between a few minutes (for music videos) to an hour (for feature
films) to fully download.*
• Burn titles take a few minutes (for music videos) and up to a couple hours
(for feature films) to download and burn.**

How can I stream a title?
Pick your title. Select STREAM. Pay by credit card
and start streaming Flash video immediately.
How can I download a title?
Pick your title. Select DOWNLOAD. Pay by credit card
and start downloading Quicktime file.
How do I burn a DVD of a title?
Pick your title. Select BURN. Pay by credit card.
First time users will need to download the Rumur Video Application to their
desktop. Launch Rumur Video. Login with your username and password. Insert
a blank DVD-R into your burner and select start.
